Being that I've seen all the old Die Hards and always thought they were great action films, I was so excited when I heard they were coming out with another one. A little weary that they would ruin an awesome chain of movies, the movie more than exceeded my expectations. The FBI orders that a group of hackers be brought in and John McClane (Bruce Willis) is sent to retrieve Matt Farrell (Justin Long). When he arrives at his house, people are getting ready to kill Matt. A sick fighting scene breaks out while these guys are trying to kill Matt and are met with bad timing being that McClane just arrived. John and Matt soon learn that every other hacker on the list has been killed and that they are still after him. Soon, the United States is struck with massive attacks on technological systems - all internet and phones are shut down and video messages are being broadcast on TV threatening the end of the world. Once they learn who's behind all this, McClane of course is sent to save the day. I can't tell more of the plot without giving it away but one word to sum up the movie is - wow. The action and fighting scenes are incredible and keep you on the edge of your seat, there's also very appropriate (never trying too hard) comedy and the plot is well-developed, not over the top, no unnecessary stuff, just good ole entertainment. This movie is hands-down one of the best movies of the summer. If you've never seen any of the old Die Hards, you'll still understand and enjoy this one. Like I'd even go as far to say that you'd be missing out if you didn't see this movie!
